In 2008 Elmswell Fie Cew dealt with over 180 calls, compared to 147 in 2007. December was a quiet month for calls with only one large incident, a thatched housenear Haverhill, and no calls on Christmas Day or Boxing Da. On Christmas Eve the Elmswell Fire Crew had their annual bag pack and charity collection at the Co-op Stoe being there all day from 8:00am to 6:00pm, a fantastic £1,429.04 was collected. A big thank you to the Manager, Gary, and the staff for their help and support and to all those who kindly dontated.

A further £83.50 was donated from Elmswell Fox from their weekly meal draw, thanks to Nigel & Joy and their customers.

A cheque presentation night is being planned for February to donate money raised in 2008. Any group or organisation wishing to be considered for a donation please write to Sub Officer Brian Hawes c/o Elmswell Fire Station, School Road, Elmswell, with details of how the money will be used.
